RAMAZAN SESLER

From Father to Son, A Clarinet Legend

Turkish-Balkan Folk & Jazz

A musical tradition spanning three generations, the refinement of the clarinet, and the sounds of jazz resonate in harmony.

A project that took place in the "temple of jazz" in London, Ronnie Scott's.
A unique performance - blending Turkish and Balkan folk music, maqams, and jazz - crowned by a standing ovation and encore from the audience.
Below: live videos and an interview of this exceptional night.

The musical genius of the Sesler family lives on through its gifted and worthy heir, RAMAZAN SESLER. A virtuoso of the clarinet, he carries forward a unique style and a three-generation lineage that has left a deep mark on Türkiye and the Balkans.

This exceptional clarinetist performs on prestigious stages with the show “From Father to Son, a Clarinet Legend”: Musée du Quai Branly (Paris), Istanbul Jazz Festival, L’Arsenal – Cité musicale de Metz, MUCEM Museum (Marseille)… Open to dialogue with contemporary genres, RAMAZAN SESLER invites renowned jazz masters to collaborate on this project.

Alongside KAAN BIYIKOĞLU (piano) and BATU ŞALLIEL (saxophone), the clarinetist unveils a unique jazz fusion of the "Sesler" style: subtle maqams, Balkan rhythms, and Bosphorus tavern repertoire infused with the colors and improvisation of jazz.

“From Father to Son, a Clarinet Legend” embodies both a cultural heritage and a constantly evolving creative path.
